In terms of sales of table dates in the first half of 2020, there has been a considerable slowdown in demand both on the local market and for export. This was followed by partial closings of the table date packaging units, resulting in an increase in stocks of raw materials in factories. For the 2021 harvest, the COVID-19 confinement period corresponded to that of pollination. But according to the information gathered, the farmers' effort and the support of the local authorities had largely saved this operation. But the future harvest would probably be slightly weak, although this deficit could be offset by the stock carryover from the 2020 harvest.
